Programme definitions
Starship Overflow - A weekly 3 hour radio show, featuring a selection of brand new and pre-releases. The programme is split into three parts. Hour 1 - The heaviest of the new releases, featuring all the latest Hard-rock & Metal etc. Hour 2 - New releases from the world of Indie, Rock & the various cross-overs. Hour 3 - The latest avant-garde & more unusual alternative releases. This programme can be heard Saturday evenings between 5-8pm (UK time) on River Gibbs FM and also 8 - 11pm (UK time) on Radio Seagull 1602AM. For more listening times, please check the schedule.
The Overflow Archives - Between 2007 - 2015, nearly 300 editions of this show were aired. Each week on the programme, came an interesting selection of oddities and rarities, randomly picked from the last 50-60 years of Alternative music. The Overflow library now holding over 35,000 albums, meant a wide choice of music could be played. Many of which were on vinyl, some on CD/CDR & others that were rare cassette only releases from the 70's - 90's.
Always a top notch selection of Alternative & Underground tunes from years gone by.
Archive Seagull Shows - This programme gave you the opportunity to hear selected hours from archived editions of the weekly new releases programme : Starship Overflow. These shows were originally aired between 2001 - 2008 on Radio Seagull. But were edited and aired (including fresh jingles) on River Gibbs FM.
The Space Stream - Between 2009 - 2010, sixty-four editions of The Space Stream were broadcast on Overflow Radio. The show had a rather psychedelic feel to it, specialising in Space-Rock, Prog-Rock, Psychedelia and obscure festival bands. Eventually, this was the format to be used on The Stonehenge Disco airing on Radio Mi Amigo at the time.
The Stonehenge Disco - Originally, this show was devised by good friend & DJ Steve Leggett in the 90's. Sadly Steve died some years ago, so I decided to continue his show. Steve played mainly 70's psychedelic & underground music back in the day. So I have continued in a similar vein, but not just focusing on the 70's. It's still very underground & psychedelic, but I decided to feature music from the Free-festival & Underground scenes, past, present & futture. Steve produced the original shows for Supanova Radio. I then took it to Radio Mi Amigo and since then, it has become established in it's permanent home @ River Gibbs FM.
